We love chips!!

Let’s talk about the good potato bits…

Of course everyone loves a chip and eaten the right way, chips can be healthy too…first thing to remember is ‘keep your skins on’ ………because that’s the really healthy bit……..
– Skin on, 1 medium potato has half your daily vitamin C intake – lots of anti oxidants 10% of your B6 which is good for you!
– HIGH in fibre….but only with those little jackets intact – 1 medium potato has more potassium than a banana!!! – NO fat, sodium (salt) or cholesterol so they are good for your heart too.
– Eaten skin on, the potato is jam packed with goodies and is so versatile…

Chips, chips and healthier chips…

Set the oven to 180 degrees Farenheight. Wash, but don’t peal and chunk up about six medium potatoes and toss into a bowl with a tablespoon of rapeseed, olive or sunflower oil. Get your hands in the bowl and get the oil all round those beautiful potatoes. Lay on a baking tray and sprinkle with salt and pepper, add a couple of whole but crushed cloves of garlic and a few sprigs of fresh or dried herbs like Rosemary or thyme. Heat in an oven 190 degrees (fan) for about 20 mins then give the pan a shake. Cook for about a further 20 mins until golden and soft inside. Yumma!!
